Ajoutons :

What, you folks are still there?
But I told you I was going away! You really mean to stay?
Well then, I'll sent you a few words everytime I get the chance, but you'll have to wait for me to come back to have images: until then, just take my word for it...
And if someome feels like translating the said titbits to french, that would be welcome, but I myself don't have the time to do it...

Irish contradictions:
their schools have classy latin mottos, but ancient languages are not taught any longer.

I love Ireland because...
their advertisings make me laugh aloud: in full blown winter, an ad for a beer explains lamely "Hey, it's warm inside"...

I love Ireland because...
The Irish Times can afford a singularly vitriolic advertisment campaign, asking red hot questions like "Does Catholic Church deserve absolution?", a clear reference to the recent abuse scandals, or ever better "Must 3 million Irish over the world go back to where they come from?", illustrating the question with a pot and a kettle...
NB : The pot calling the kettle black is the English equivalent of l'hôpital qui se moque de la charité.

I love Ireland because...
Irish people love us French.
It might be a simple effect of the maxim "my enemy's enemy is my friend", but it's still nice to be appreciated.

I love Ireland because...
you can see "lovely fags " written on a television screen, and nobody seems to think anything is the matter.
But then again, it's in Father Ted (look it up, it's worth it...).

I love Ireland because...
Irish accent sounds much more natural to a French than that of an Ox-bridge elderly teacher (I've met a few).
There is such thing as too much of a good thing, though...

I love Ireland because...
I just read in the news that a lamppost has been sitting in the middle of a busy road for two years now, and is liable to stay there a good time longer.

I love Ireland because...
although the Irish write the Border with a capital B, the cinema programs give the flicks' hours in both South and North, and no ID is needed to go over to watch them...
